Beijing my experiences

Thursday, 24th November 2005

Well fellow Mowabian’s, as most of you know, I am currently on holidays in Hong Kong after my rather eventful implementation at work recently. For one, I am enjoying the window (if not actual purchasing) shopping, showing a few friends around town and making a whirlwind 4 day tour of Beijing.

I’ve been to Macau, Hong Kong’s new Disneyland, Beijing where traffic jams are notoriously from morning to night time as people break the rules, causing more traffic jams and of course, the local sights of Hong Kong.

Most of all, I have enjoyed catching up with my friends and close family, particularly my aunt whom I always miss most.

Wonka - New vs Old

Wednesday, 28th September 2005

I am a big fan of the old Willy Wonka and the chocolate factory. When I heard about the remake, I was hesitant to see it. However, after speaking to friends and work colleagues they convinced me I wouldn’t be disappointed.

So off I went to see it. It actually exceeded my expectations as I was thinking the worst. Johnny Depp as Wonka was definitely weird but I didn’t mind it. This version of the movie was closer to the book than the old version. I didn’t mind the silliness. After the week I had at work, it makes me think that some times we work too hard and forget about play.

I feel like crab!

Monday, 5th September 2005

Craving a lovely crab hotpot again! The recent weather in Sydney - you know that slightly overcast cold weather always makes me think of food. (What’s worse is my friends also too lazy to cook also crave it!). A few calls later, we are at our local Chinese restaurant pigging out on crab hotpot.

Steaming hot flavoursome noodles, lovely fresh crab! I just love peeling back the shells and scooping out all that wonderful crab meat!

Ah! I’m so full now I can hardly walk! It’s good to pig out once in a while…..
