Hooray for Waqu!

Sunday, 10th September 2006

Have been a bit of a home body of late. The weather is Sydney is certainly disgusting but after much pleading to leave the home for some nice food, we finally settled on Waqu .

Waqu is in Crows Nest. A small and not very noticeable front door on Falcon Street not far from Woolworths supermarkets. A special degustation menu was on that night for $39.00 for five courses so we thought we’d give it a go and try some of the food.

Firstly, the starter was a mixed “tapas” plate of soft shell crab taco, ox tongue and a salad. Next, a small course of sashimi followed by fried oysters, angus pepper beef and a white sesame brulee!

I thought value for money and service was tops!

Can’t wait to go back for my dinner next week.

Mobile phone black spots

Friday, 30th December 2005

I don’t know if any one out there has experienced the same problem - These days, I am finding my mobile drops out more often than it used to.

These days, I travel around a lot more because the nature of my job has changed from sitting behind a desk to going out on site to see clients. So as I am driving from one place to another, I find my reception just drops out. This in turn frustrates me to no avail! I’m with Vodafone and mainly travel metro areas but it just appears worse than ever!

When I consult the ‘coverage maps’ it says I should be fine - maybe it’s time to change mobile or change carriers. Any one with feedback on how I can reduce this problem - happy to hear from you.

Wallace and Gromit

Tuesday, 4th October 2005

A long time fan of these guys, I really enjoyed Wallace and Gromit. In this adventure, Wallace and Gromit run a vegetable protection security firm called anti-pesto. After successfully and humanly capturing rabbits that have found their way into prized vegie patches, their plans are sabotaged by a were wabbit.

Will their business survive the were wabbit? Will Wallace’s love of cheese be enough to save the world? To find out, you’ll have to watch the movie!
